Product Overview
Putting rubber on an Overseas changes more than the look. It turns a formal steel-bracelet watch into something you can swim in, travel with and wear through a hot afternoon without a second thought. This replacement is a made-to-fit custom fluororubber material watch strap shaped around the 41 mm Overseas case and its original quick-release lugs, so it sits on the watch the way the original strap does instead of sitting on top of it.
The case end is convex - moulded to follow the curve of the case rather than stopping square at the lug line - and the material is FKM fluororubber with a soft matte surface. The interface is the 7 mm quick-release used on this watch, so the strap comes off and goes back on in seconds without a spring-bar tool.
It is supplied without a buckle, because it is designed to reuse your original Vacheron Constantin deployant clasp, and it is available in six stock colours or a DIY shade if you have something specific in mind.
It suits two kinds of owner especially: the daily wearer who wants the Overseas on the wrist at the beach, on a flight and in the office without worrying about a bracelet, and the collector who keeps the steel bracelet in its box. It is also the practical answer when an original rubber strap has hardened, gone shiny or started to split.
One thing worth stating plainly: this is an aftermarket replacement part made to the same specification as the rubber strap fitted to the Overseas. It is not a Vacheron Constantin product and it is not sold as one.

Fitting & Everyday Use
- Work on a soft cloth or a padded tray so the case cannot slide or pick up scratches while you concentrate on the strap.
- Locate the quick-release at each strap end - it is the same interface the original strap uses, so nothing about the case needs to be adapted.
- Press the release and slide the old strap end out of the lug, one side at a time.
- Seat the new end into the lug with the convex face against the case, and press it home until the pin locks with a click.
- Repeat at the other lug, then tug both ends gently. A firm, no-play feel means both pins are seated properly.
- Thread the free ends through your original deployant clasp and set the length the way you normally wear the watch.
- Rinse the strap in fresh water after swimming, heavy sweating or a day at the beach. Salt and sunscreen are the two things that dull the matte finish first.
- Dry it with a soft cloth and let it air for a few minutes before the watch goes back in the box.
- Store the strap flat or loosely coiled when it is off the watch, and keep sharp tools away from it - a nick in the edge stays visible on a matte surface.
- Check the pin ends and the clasp's spring bar every few months; those are the parts that wear first.
Colour Options
| Colour | Character |
| Black | The closest match to the classic rubber look and the most forgiving day to day; marks and dust show least on it. |
| Blue | Sits naturally with a blue dial and a steel case, and makes the rubber look deliberate rather than purely practical. |
| White | Bright and summery on a steel case with a light dial; it shows marks sooner than the darker tones, so it suits a watch worn less hard. |
| Red | A real accent colour - it makes the rubber the focal point of the watch and looks strongest against a dark dial. |
| Forest Green | Quiet and understated; it reads almost black indoors and shows its colour in daylight. |
| Orange | Sporty and dive-watch flavoured, pairing well with a black dial and brushed steel. |
| DIY colour | Not on the list? Tell us the shade you have in mind and we will talk through what can be matched. |
Ordering Notes
- Check your case-back reference against the Overseas references this fit is made for. If your number is not among them, send us a photo of the watch before ordering and we will confirm whether this is the right strap for it.
- Choose your colour from the palette in the specifications, and ask for a photo of the actual strap if you need an exact match.
- Ordering more than one? We supply custom fluororubber material watch straps in this fit for customers who want several colours, a travel spare or stock for a shop, and we will confirm current availability before you commit.
- Ask about timing and terms before you order - availability, dispatch and the terms that apply are confirmed by our team for your order, so nothing is left to assumption.
- New to buying a watch strap online? Remember that the fit is verifiable from the measurements and the colour is not, so ask your questions before ordering rather than after.
- If your watch is not an Overseas, tell us the reference anyway - we also make fluororubber straps in other fits and a nylon-fluororubber mix, and we will point you to the closest match.

FAQ
Q1. Which Vacheron Constantin Overseas models will this strap fit?
It is made for the 41 mm Overseas references that use the original quick-release lugs: 4500V, 5500V, 7900V, 5520V and 7920V. Check the reference number on your case back - if it matches one of those, the convex case end and the quick-release interface will line up as designed. If your number is different, send us a photo of the watch and the lugs and we will tell you honestly whether this strap is the right one.
Q2. Does it use the built-in quick-release system, or do I need tools?
It uses the same quick-release interface as the original. This is a custom fluororubber material watch strap with the 7 mm release built in, so the swap takes seconds and needs no spring-bar tool. The pins lock with an audible click at each lug - give both ends a gentle tug afterwards to confirm they are seated before you wear the watch.
Q3. Is a clasp included with the strap?
No. The strap is supplied on its own and is designed to reuse your original Vacheron Constantin deployant clasp, which keeps the watch looking consistent and means you keep using the very same clasp that came with your watch. If you would rather have a second clasp so two straps stay ready to wear, ask us and we will tell you what is available.
Q4. How close are the colours in the photographs?
The photos are taken from our own straps, but every screen renders colour slightly differently, so treat them as a guide rather than an exact match. Black, Forest Green and Blue sit closest to how they look in person; white and orange read a little brighter on a phone than on the wrist. If an exact shade matters, ask for a photo of the actual strap - that is the one part of buying a watch strap online you cannot verify from a measurement.
Q5. How does FKM hold up to sweat, sun and seawater?
FKM is the material watchmakers turn to precisely because it does not mind any of those. A fluororubber material watch strap resists sweat, UV, heat and chemicals far better than standard silicone or natural rubber, and it keeps its shape and matte finish instead of going hard and glossy after a season of wear. A quick rinse in fresh water after the sea or a long, hot day is all the maintenance it needs.
Q6. Is this a genuine Vacheron Constantin strap?
No. It is an aftermarket replacement made to the same specification as the rubber strap fitted to the Overseas, and it is not a Vacheron Constantin product. We supply custom fluororubber material watch straps as replacements for a wide range of watch references, and we would rather be clear about what this is than let anyone assume otherwise.
